In an effort to support the agriculture production chain in Akkar, Expertise France has launched the ARDI (Akkar Rural Development Initiative).
The project will enhance the life and benefit different working hosting communities and the Syrian refugees in North Lebanon through 2 major objectives. The first objective is providing local farmers with all the required knowledge and skills to successfully grow and sell avocadoes and the second objective is giving them improved access and linkage to market and export opportunities.
Rene Moawad Foundation is aiming to duplicate the success model from the South in Akkar whilst personalizing it to suit Akkar requirements (including climate, soil constitution and type of Avocado plant suitable for Akkar).
